A Tramp Shining~ Newly Emerged Needham's Skimmer Dragonfly (Libellula needhami)
This teneral, or newly emerged dragon, was a rare sight for me as its wings were still drying and hardening and had a hazy, pearlescent luster that wasn't see-through yet...very cool and weird looking!
I borrowed the title from Richard Harris's 1968 album that featured a big hit 'MacArthur Park', which was 7:20 minutes long! I'll never forget having to wait through two thirds of it, hearing about the cake left in the rain, for an up-tempo, go go boot stomping instrumental section, called "Allegro"! It was a good poetic ballad throughout, but I was all about the upbeat part back then! The song is still highly popular among my generation, and Donna Summer released a great disco version of it in 1978...
