Looking Back at 2017~ October-December

Winding up my year end review, October and November blessed us with plenty of perfect Autumn days to spend caterpillar hunting along the trails, and we found some exciting first encounters on every hike! We'd never seen yellow Io caterpillars before, and they filled the woods, along with their lime green counterparts, until the very end of the season...and my first mature Tersa caterpillar really made my season! My jaw dropped when I found two Pawpaw caterpillars together for a perfect composition, as well!

Aside from caterpillars, I was amazed by other firsts, like an incredible Indigo Milk Cap Mushroom, my first shot of a spotted fawn, and a Harris' Hawk, way out of its usual range!

The annual roosting Monarchs at Fort Morgan have been quite a sight...and quite a few were still there yesterday!

Yep, 2017 was another year of great blessings and I'd like to thank you all for your friendship, visits, comments and faves...and of course, thank you all for sharing all of your incredible shots that brought me such beauty, smiles, insight and that familiar thought of 'wow, I wish I'd taken THAT!'

Wishing you all a fantastic year ahead in 2018, full of health and happiness! Happy New Year!
