Imperial County, California

On the way back from San Diego we planned our departure to have us arrive at the Imperial Sand Dunes in SoCal by the border of Arizona at sunset.

 

I mostly took portraits of friends, but I did take a few landscapes. This was definitely the best one that I got. I tried a few while the sun was up, but I'll just acknowledge that any photograph with the sun in it just doesn't work well with my style; I don't know how to edit them well enough that I can consider putting them up here for you guys to see.

 

I loved the soft colors in the sky paired with the soft tones of the sand. The shadows of night were creeping in, as the blue tones took over the landscape.
