Dunkeld Signal Box

The line dates from 1863 when the line from Perth was extended to Aviemore and eventually Inverness. The signal cabin was opened in 1919. The wooden step and token exchange dias was used by the signalman to give and recieve single line tokens with northbound trains. This practice ceased in the 1970s but the evidence remains.
