Now-scrapped 9F No. 92085, Barry.

The first steam loco to be scrapped since 1973 was sadly this 9F. The supply of wagons for breaking up had dried up, and in June 1980, the two North British diesels - D601 and D6122 (D6121) were cut. Alas, time was not on this 9Fs side (or that of 4156), however the next steam loco due to be broken up, Merchant Navy 35025 was lucky. A new supply of wagons prevented any more loco breaking at Barry Island.

Saturday February 16th 1980.
