"May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night and a smooth road all the way to your door.”

EXPLORE #12. That's so cool! (oh, did you hear me suddenly go back over 10 years in time... back to the glorious teen-days, as in way cool! Explore I mean, not me going back in time, not that I have anything against teenagers, absolutely not, but I do have something against my teen years, as in this is better, don't want to go back there..... Oh Hannah, quit this rambling already!)

For sad bokeh friday.

I woke up today at 9am, turned my head towards the window and behold... the sky was on fire! The sun was just rising and painting the whole world gold. I wanted to take my camera and run outside, especially since the warm yellow curve of the sun just appeared above the horizon, but... then I looked at the termometer. -26'C.

And so I dug even deeper down under the blankets and continued my sleep.

Now I really should go outside and attach my car to the warmer, or whatever they are called. Off to work in a couple of hours, IF I can get the car going. I'd rather drive my own car to work then be picked up by a police patrol... That's what my workmates will do. Once when I overslept and of course had my cellphone off, nobody could reach me and wake me up, they planned to send a fireman with the fire deparments ladder truck to knock on my window and wake me up. Thank God I woke up and called them before they had the chance to fulfill their plans... I work with people, who have a crazy sense of humour, and that humour can be rather effective when having access to all the ambulances, fire departments and police patrols in our area.

As a send-off I give you this, one of the most beloved Finnish Christmas tunes. Yeah, we're a moody people, :). Nah, more like serious when it comes to some things, and enjoying our music in moll. To be quiet and listen, being in the moment, just endorsing music without any extra bells and whistles. This song is especially sad because it is written by Zacharias Topelius in the memory of his son, who died in his fathers arms around Christmas time. In the 19th century.

Varpunen jouluaamuna

Sparrow on Christmas morning

Snow has already covered the flowers in the valley

The wave of the lake has frozen in the frost of winter

Sparrow, the little one, has eaten the food summer offers

The wave of the lake has frozen in the frost of winter

There was a sweet girl on the staircase of a little house

"Come here, sparrow, take a seed from me with joy!

It's Christmas, my homeless sparrow is unhappy,

come here, take this seed with joy"

And now the sweet sparrow flew near the girl:

"I am thankful and I will take the seed from you.

God wants to reward you some day now

I am thankful and I will take the seed from you"

"I am not a bird from this land, my child.

I am your little brother, I come from heaven

The little seed you gave the the poor one,

was recieved by your own little brother - from the land of the angels"
