39. 1977 - “ ‘Heroes’ ”
The second installation in Bowie’s “Berlin Trilogy”, “Heroes” picked up where Low left off. In terms of format, it follows the same formula: a first side focused on lyrical songs, and a second side focused on instrumentals. “Heroes” traded Low’s neurotic angularity for a more high-powered dance pop energy, but it retained the ambient textures of its instrumental side.

This was the first minilander I completed in the project, during the days immediately following Bowie’s death. I was very happy with the pose, and the 1x1 tooth element seemed to be the perfect part to replicate the flat palm in his left hand.
