DR BR 80 | LEGO

by Bricks-on-Rails

The DR BR 80 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn were tender shunting locomotives, which were built in the years 1927 - 1929 by different manufacturers. Originally 39 locomotives were built, seven of which are still in existence today.

The model can be motorized with a Power-Functions M-Motor, which is mounted vertically in the boiler next to the battery box. The IR-receiver is located in the coal storage, which is opened upwards. Due to the design, the couplings are far away from the wheels without pivot points, which can lead to problems when driving short-coupled cars. Here an appropriate adapter is needed.

The model has been designed especially for the use of the railway wheels of "Big Ben Bricks", but can also be equipped with standard LEGO wheels by small adaptations.
