Micro Very Large Array, Photo 2
For a contest entry. Limited to a 16x16 baseplate, the theme was "Moments in Space".
Humans have been peeking into deep space with massive radio antennas for about a century. Representing very large devices on such a small scale was a challenge and hopefully visually entertaining. This was a fun build, using up the last of some of my special pieces and took a little time to determine the best use of the pieces to conform to the size while still representing an iconic portion of the array.
Also check out my latest favorite build, the Taj Mageddon! (click to see and then navigate left/right to see the alternate angles).
