(1) - The Eviction Notice

Prelude...

-Ethan's Allen's Journal

May 2nd, 1762.

They had come, a group of them, while Richard was off on a hunting trip, threatened his wife and left Richard a bluntly written eviction notice. This was the nineteenth farmer that had been treated this way by the New York governor's henchmen. We all had received grants from the governor of New Hampshire to stake our claims here, in this fertile valley, surrounded by rolling, green mountains. Now New York claimed we had no right to be here, and was starting to play rough, sending each farmer a eviction notice and roughing up his property, Richard has gotten off easy, probably because he wasn't home. As I walked up, Richard ran out from the small barn, waving a large document over his head. He was extremely livid and was waving his musket around. I tried to calm him down, I told him we would not stand for this any longer. I told him to come down to the Catamount tavern at 7 o'clock, quiet-like, and that there was a bunch of us where getting together. He nodded and I bade him farewell. I walked off down the path, on my way to another farmer's house. We could and we would stand up for our rights, we will not sit back and watch as our farms and livelihood is stripped from us. We will do whatever it takes...

So...as promised here is the first (or second) installment in the Ethan Allen series. A big thanks to Sam(TheBricks), or all his help with the WIPs and the editing. I decided to go with a Nannanish-vignette style series, after Sam showed me a picture which greatly inspired me.

The small maple-like tree is built using Katie Walker's awesome tree tutorial. I don't know how she does what she does with those plants, it took me about an hour to put the tree together...

I apologize for the way the green plants photographed, I really don't know what went wrong with them...

Enjoy and God Bless!
