Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, Aspen, Colorado
Watching the sunrise on the Maroon Bells just outside of Aspen, Colorado has been one my must see list for a few years now. Yesterday morning, I finally got the chance. While I may have missed peak golden aspen season, I was lucky enough to catch the very tail end of it and witness some of the vibrant leaves still holding on for dear life.
This shot actually came about 15 minutes before official sunrise. The light was still ambient, the sky wasn't washed out, and the wind hadn't picked up yet. A few minutes after taking this photo, wind below across the lake all but ruining that perfect reflection. It's no original shot, by any means, but it is mine.
Hope I get to return some day.
