Magnifying spectacles

These are essential when I'm photographing. The lens in the right eye is a twelve times magnifier. The left eye just has plain glass. To see a magnified image, you hold the subject close to the right eye (just beyond your nose). So, to photograph, I hold the camera LCD close to my face and the LCD screen image then fills my right eye field of view. (Actually, it's a bit larger than my field of view.) These spectacles are available in a range of magnifications, but they can't do more than twelve times; noses get in the way! I buy them now from Vision Enhancers www.visionenhancers.com

I should stress that there's no one size fits all solution for visual impairment. If you're visually impaired, seek professional advice. I'm just showing here what works very well for me with my camera. The 12 times magnification isn't enough to allow me to read standard size print comfortably and I also use a wearable video magnifier that can give over 20 times magnification, but I usually get my iPhone to speak print to me with SeeingAI.
