Structural Defect

Bombay Beach, Salton Sea, California

Bombay Beach is an interesting town along the eastern shore of the Salton Sea. A small community still resides in the half abandoned town. Some time ago, shifting water levels flooded the town and a wall was built around it to keep high tides out.

This area of town exists on the outside of the wall and it was once a trailer/RV park. Somehow, it became buried under several feet of mud and sand -- trailers and all.

It seems as though the water level is higher than it once was. All of this stuff was out in the lake -- stuff that usually isn't planted in the water on purpose. It's interesting seeing power line poles with no lines attached, and others with the lines laying on the ground.
