Observatory

Picture is taken of NOAA's Atmospheric Research Observatory during the 2014 winter at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station.

 

The two green beams shooting out of the building are LIDARS whose primary purpose was to locate polar stratospheric clouds (ozone depleting clouds).
