Return to Searcy, AR Kroger

1601 E Race Ave, Searcy, AR // I visited this Kroger in June of 2013. At that time, I had been just weeks late, the old Bauhaus lettering had already been removed. Today in Cabot, AR I met the manager who used to manage this store. He told me that this Searcy store originally had the 1970's superstore decor. Then in the late 1970's, the store was remodeled to the Bauhaus decor. The outside has remained original superstore style. The Bauhaus interior remained until May of 2013. The manager told me that this store has now received the "marketplace" decor package. Funny thing is that the floors are original early 1970's superstore! The colors of the bricks actually match the color of the newly painted walls in almost every section! The floor is somewhat random though in it's design now, with aisles being moved and things rearranged, and parts of the floor patched over the years. The outside of this store still has the early 1970's superstore look, and for the most part it's it great shape! Oh, and another interesting thing is the new hanging decor looks funny with the low ceiling in this store, and the aisles are pretty cramped!
