Lessons in Blythe customizing.
As this is only my second Blythe custom, I was very careless and foolishly trimmed that pin (a), which stabilizes the eye mech when changing eyes. I made the mistake of referencing a TBL mold, even though I've read a good bit on different types of face molds!! At first, I thought I would have to rebuild the pin, but on such a tiny spot, it just wouldn't be sound. Instead, I snipped thin strips from an empty, gift card to create a laminate (b) to build on the eye mech itself. Then, I reinforced the whole extension with a larger piece. I've been clicking away for some time, even tried to pry off the laminate, but the whole fix has surprisingly held fast and strong!
