THE WEST CLIFF RAILWAY. BOURNEMOUTH. 1968

My little Google friend assures me that the cliff lifts are classed as light railways. There are three, the East Cliff one opened just a few months ahead of this one, in 1908. A third, at Fishermans Walk Southbourne, opened in 1935.

I've never actually used one but if i get the chance i might have a go this summer. It's 80p to come down and £1.20 to go back up, an average of £12 each way. I'd be lost without the calculator on my phone.
