Door to eternity?
In 1357 this little village church was built near a limestone cliff to the Baltic sea.
As centuries were passing, the sea was slowly eating from the limestone and the shoreline came closer.
Then, in 1928, the whole sanctuary dropped into the ocean, and the congregation was left with a gaping hole and a great view. The rest of the church was secured with a retaining wall and the hole closed with bricks, and that is how it looks today.
