The Boston Public Library owns both the original pencil and watercolor sketches and a series of color lithographs by J.H. Bufford & Company. The State House is in the background to the right. The mention of the future site of the reservoir in the title indicates that the title is from the Bufford & Company lithograph and not Smith's title. There is no indication that Smith titled his sketches.
