Three cameras, one image

'songs echoing, piped into the lounge

while birds warm their feet on the flue'

As I dragged myself out of bed on Saturday I noticed two things: bird song echoing in the lounge and it was bright. So rather than sit in, I decided to make use of the low temperature and brightness to my advantage.

That's where this shot comes into it. This is a really old (by Internet years) Polaroid Sun 670 Autofocus QS. I picked it up new for $50 in the late '80's. It's been a year since I last took some shots. Yes that is dust on the camera.

The promise was simple. You buy some film, load it, point and click. The camera screams and out pops a neat 4x5" bluish image. It's not ready at first and to hasten the process you warm the image by putting it in your shirt pocket.

By chance I found a local store had some new, old film. When I originally got the camera it was either Polaroid or Ilford. But that was a long time ago. Impossible changed all that. New life has been breathed into the 670.

So I quickly formulate an idea. Get a pack of Impossible 600 colour film then take advantage of the cool bright morning. I'lI shoot eight images using three different cameras and see what happens.

This is where it starts.

Image Four

There's this tree I pass every time I go through Kangaroo Ground. I stop off-road, grab the cameras and proceed to shoot. There was a time when I could guarantee there would be few cars. Not today, I have to wait till there's no cars either coming towards or behind.

The light was good.
