Nice day working
Early morning phone call from Moose, "coming over?".. "err yeah". So I spent the day up at Strathewen doing the usual: cutting, moving, burning wood piles. This time it's at D's place. "D" is the nearest neighbour of Moose. But first it was off to get some snags, then some fuel. It seems every road crew is out making sure their minimum 40Km speed limits are observed. There's one at home, Warrandyte even one at Kangaroo Ground.
Green grass, yellow hills & blue sky
Great views of the hills covered in Yellow. With the green and blue it looks great. Mentioned it to "D"... "Capeweed! a pest and it's all over the place". Despite what "D" reckons I still like it.
Hills
Moose dropped some dead trees, "D" did some clearing with the "dozer". Managed to get 3 stacks burnt. Had a BBQ at "D"'s with hamburgers, sausages with tomatoes, potato's and beans. Got a bit dehydrated tending the fires. Have to remember to bring more water & drink at more regular intervals. The weather was good, little wind, some cloud and a bit of sun. But those hills don't get any easier to climb. Will see how the legs feel tomorrow. By 1700 it was time to go. Got home covered in black.
Moose will be interstate this weekend so looks like it's off to the old Mans place in Kinglake West to finish off the shed.
