Took some time out to attend this months entrepreneur talk by Brendan McKeegan at The Hive in Melbourne, 2009MAR10.
Well worth the visit to listen to Brendan talk about things like:
- getting finance, first question, "who has bought your product" before any money is discussed
- opportunities and/or threats
- how far do you take the business?
- don't do trade shows unless strategic
- when marketing develop a particular product hook to explain the product even though there may be other features that are just as good if not better
- be disciplined in record keeping of information you need (financial/structure)
- how do foreigners describe Australian Startups? - 4 men in a truck - as long as they realise it's a fast moving semi and they better get on-board quick.
- demo of smart credit cards developing with 2 full-time dev's & himself as CEO.
