One Spruce budworm (Choristoneura fumiferana) - one of many. I caught this one hanging from one of our spruce trees holding onto a ball of fuzz. If you zoom in you can just make out the thread it is on.

Our 2 acres are surrounded by spruce trees and the last two summers we are obviously part of the infestation. These little guys will more than likely kill our trees. As you approach the trees you can actually hear them chewing. It's quite amazing but also sad that they are so destructive.
