Tree Swallow 1812
We thought we were lucky this year when the tree swallows chose our box to raise their family. This was after missing the last 2 years. We were excited that there were 6 perfect eggs. But yesterday morning when I checked, there were no eggs in the box. They were broken under the box and all the feathers had been removed. I just learned that this was the work of a house wren. They break the eggs and remove all the feathers because they don't use feathers to nest. But these swallows have been very active and it appears that they may be trying again. I sure hope so. Taken in my back yard in Calgary, Alberta.
Thank you for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.
I will only be on Flickr intermittently as I am very busy at home.
