Why? what's wrong with 10, what's better with 12?
Well, there's nothing wrong with the G10 ... it's great. I've had it for 6000 images, every one a masterpiece ;-)
But the G12 has extra features ... such as the fold-out LCD screen which is very useful for many an unorthodox POV, especially with a remote release. For instance ground level, or a high wall ... both need far fewer gymnastics. And you can easily sneak a candid people-pic by firing sideways.
Then there's the electronic spirit level, and an in-built HDR mode to try. And better IS and better low-light performance ... blah, blah. If you want more go e.g. here.
When all's said and done it's just an even-more-ace bit of kit, OK?
And BTW it has really cool face detection .... believe it or not, you can fire the G12 just by winking at it ;-)
