Durham university Botanic Garden, 24 Dec. One of the small herd of rare-breed sheep that winters there, part of the managed ecology. Some are Manx, some Hebridean ..... all very hardy and well able to cope with snow.
The man in charge says "Hebridean ... one of our oldest, her name is Hissie, she's the boss, she usually leads the others and is always first to show interest if there is something new".
