Bristol M.1C Monoplane WW1 fighter
Despite being very fast for the time (130mph), not many were ordered into production. The reasons are rather vague. Some accounts imply that the Royal Flying Corps took a dim view of monoplanes' safety, others that the design just wasn't very good. This replica dates from 1997, and gave a very sprightly demonstration. Seen here operating from its home base of Old Warden.
