Vought F4U Corsair, just after take off

Marvelous WW2 US fighter aircraft, one of the most successful of the war, most notably in the Far East theatre. More than 12,000 Corsairs were built.

Seen at 2024's wonderful airshow at Sywell - which sadly is unlikely to be repeated in the foreseeable future, following the death (through illness) of the organiser, the great Richard Grace.
