Avro Lancaster - Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

It was good to see the BBMF back in the air again after a fatal Spitfire crash earlier this year.

This Lancaster dates from 1945, one of only 2 flyable remaining out of more than 7,300 manufactured in the UK and Canada.

The sound of the four RR Merlin engines is a stirring one, and it is always a treat to see, and hear, this venerable old aircraft.

Three passes were made at the Shuttleworth Family Air Show.
