Roe Mk IV Triplane (1910) replica - Old Warden
The company name 'AVRO' was a construct of the founder's name; Alliot Verdon Roe. This replica was built in the 1960s for a movie (Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines) and is older now than the aircraft it was replicating at the time it was built. Constructed to the original 1910 design, but with a more modern engine, it is always a delight to see flying on the rare occasions that the weather is suitable for this fragile machine. Owned and operated by The Shuttleworth Collection.
