Bus Review - Turning at Westcott on the 21's last day
Route 21 currently suplements route 32, running over certain sections to provide a bus every half an hour. Buses do this between Strood Green and Wescott via Dorking, meaning they had to turn at Westcott to head back again (the duty for the bus was to run Guildford - Strood Green - Westcott - Strood Green - Guildford again).
I was pretty sure they used this triangle of road to turn around, as going around the green itself would be too tight. So I gambled and waited here for it.
Fully expecting it to go around clockwise, I nearly died when it drove past the first entrance as I thought it was zooming off somewhere. But, after going on the wrong side of the road to get enough room, it successfully swung around anti-clockwise. Whether there is enough space to do it clockwise, I don't know!
As part of the bus review, the 21 was withdrawn today. Arriva take over the hourly 32 commercially from Monday. A new Sunday service, run by Coaches Etc, starts on Sunday (tomorrow).
