Vanessa, my Dad and Karen looking a a pair of wartime photos. The picture on the left is of my uncle and Vanessa'a grandfather, Jack Taylor. My father is pictured on the right. The photos were taken in 1939 and both men were wearing WWI uniforms because the Canadian government had not issued WWII uniforms to the Canadian army so early in the war. They were both very handsome young men. My father was 20, my uncle Jack, 21. While Jack saw six years of service, he did not see combat. So he re-enlisted in 1950 and saw combat in the Korean War.
