pill-will-willet sounds all around

The willets abound at this time in the marsh grasses on the edge of Rehoboth Bay, Delaware. They are heard often as they fly around in pairs or alone. When they land they characteristically throw their wings up and the most notable pattern gives their identity.

This willet came over to light on this tree stump to check me out - believe to watch out for nesting. Shots below in the comments show this willet after wings are folded, and another willet walking out in the grasses where the birds often disappear quickly.
