The taxonomy of this bird has been revised relatively recently. The formerly named Scytalopus magellanicus population found around Bogota is now known as S. griseicollis. In some guides this is called the Mattoral Tapaculo. We found this skulker on the road leading down from Acuamonte, and were delighted to get a photograph, although not quite sharp. It shows the rufous rump.
