Arsenale Di Venezia

The Venetian Arsenal was a complex of state-owned shipyards and armories clustered together in the Republic of Venice in northern Italy. It was responsible for the bulk of Venice's naval power during the middle part of the second millennium AD. It was one of the earliest large-scale industrial enterprises in history. In the 13-14th centuries this facility employed over 16 thousand people and turned out a ship a day. I made this picture after sunrise (6:16 am) the first morning we were in Venice.
