A Pool Near the River

As we walked around on the river bottom at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in Michigan's upper peninsula, we came across this pool that was probably formed by spring's heavy flow. The Presque Isle River rages behind us from this position. With only evergreens in this frame, the viewer would never know is was full autumn in the park.
