Chapel Rock At The National Lakeshore
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is located in Michigan's upper peninsula on Lake Superior near the City of Munising. The hike to Chapel Beach (photo in my "Beaches" Album) is a 6-mile roundtrip walk and well worth the effort. Chapel Rock, shown here, stands apart from the mainland and has a lone White Pine tree growing on top of it. The roots from the tree appear to travel through mid-air 30 feet above ground level to the mainland. The beach here, Chapel Beach is simply world-class . . . . visit it!
