Incident at Wiltshire

Excerpts from a report filed by Professor Robert T. Power 27th March 1973:

"I must confess this is one of the most unusual cases I've been involved in since I first started acting as an occasional consultant for the Ministry at the urging of my American cousin, Dr. Michael Power!

I was was ordered to investigate recent tales of fantastic creatures being sighted on the Salisbury plains near Stonehenge. Such stories ordinarily would've been dismissed as hoaxes. After all, there have been reports of strange beings such as pixies, faires and the like in the area for centuries. However, a high ranking MP for the region was an eyewitness to a recent incident and insisted the Ministry get involved.

I really didn't expect to find anything and regarded the whole thing to be an odious waste of my time. Imagine my surprise when a motion detector I'd set up near the location of a recent sighting activated a hidden camera, capturing the image of an unearthly creature and transmitted it to a monitor at my nearby base camp! I rushed out to the spot, hoping the beast would still be there, filled with anxiety as to the nature and intentions of this monster.

The "monster" was still there, happily frolicking and playing in the field. The beast, which identified itself as "Broby" seemed to have the intelligence and disposition of a very small child and seemed quite harmless. I followed Broby back to a nearby cottage, where he said he lived with his other friends, which were all just as unusual.

I was able to discover that Broby and his friends were all psychic manifestions based on plush toys belonging to a little girl who lived in the cottage. Somehow, the cottage's proximity to Stonehenge boosted the girl's latent psychic potential, creating tangible, living versions of her playthings. When her parents were home, she was able to transform them back into toys by uttering the "magic words" Yo Gabba Gabba. She was able to re-animate them through the same process. I learned that at the time I encountered him, Broby's size had been temporarily altered from that of a toy to full size by the size changing power of another toy, Plex a "magic robot". The other toys had been recently using Plex to alter their size and venture out into the area round the cottage and this accounted for the spate of recent sightings.

It broke my heart to do so, but we couldn't very well have these strange creatures, harmless though they might be, wandering about the countryside. Imagine the panic it would create! After convincing her to turn them back into toys, we took them away and the Ministry relocated the family far from the psychic- boosting influence of the monument at Stonehenge. The girl is still being closely monitored by agents to see if her power re-manifests.

Subsequent studies indicated that her toys had somehow been permanently imbued with some portion of her power. It seemed that they could be reanimated or placed back into a dormant state whenever anyone uttered the words " Yo Gabba Gabba" near them. The toys were placed into a special soundproofed case made out of a psychic dampening material and shipped off to Area 51 in the US for further study. I never found out what became of them after that.

One has to wonder if similar incidents have happened in the past, with other children who have lived near the monument?Perhaps this is the origin of the tales of fairies, elves, dragons and the like? Magical creatures from the imaginations of children somehow given form by the mysterious properties of the megaliths? It certainly warrants further study!"
