Cotswold Custom "Fuzzhead" Astronaut / Blonde Man of Action

After recently buying an Elite Brigade "fuzzhead figure to make my own Henchman figure, i was so pleased with the quality of the figures I decided to buy a few more I've always thought it would be cool to have.

First up is my attempt to re-create the Astronaut/ Blonde Man of Action figure. In the early Seventies, there was an often forgotten Adventure Team figure which was a non-talking variation on the Astronaut which was included only in the Spacewalk Mystery set.

Later on, when the Astronaut and all his adventure sets were discontinued, there must've been a surplus of these figures and they started showing up repackaged as a blonde haired, brown eyed variant on the Man of Action.

I've always thought this would be a cool figure to own, and one that is not likely to be reproduced. Unfortunately, it is somewhat rare and expensive. So I had Cotswold put one together for me. I used the "classic hands" since I don't think there were any versions of these figures with KFG hands produced in the US, although that is quite a common type of Action Man. The Cotswold "classic hands" seem to be slightly smaller than the Hasbro ones (the same is true of the feet), but seem to be a little more detailed and for some reason can grip this machete better.

I already had this vintage "fight for survival" uniform to display him in and added a tan belt for the machete sheath which goes quite nicely with the hat.

While the non-talking Astronaut likely represents the same exact character as the Talking Astronaut figure, an argument can be made that the blonde Man of Action is more than just a simple variant on the same character, but a totally different character altogether since not only his hair, but his eye color are different.
