Bon Voyage, Shuttle Program!
This shuttle is actually a childhood toy recently returned to me by my mother. I've had it since at least 1981. I can remember being in 1rst grade and watching the first Columbia lift-offs while in school and bringing this with me. Sadly, its tail fin got broken off since last I've seen it but the "United States" stickers on the side are still intact (but not visible in this shot). It was made by a toy company with the unfortunate name of "Gay Toys" (no joke!) which even back then would've had an amusing double meaning.
It's odd to think that the Shuttle Program that has been going on since I was at least 6 or 7 years old will soon be coming to an end and I wanted to do at least one tribute shot.
