Wall Crawl'in

My son Devyn got this super cool Spidey figure from school. In his Kindergarten class he is allowed to pick a toy from the "treasure box" if he is good all week long.

 

We didn't have incentives like this when I was a kid!

 

Devyn has had lots of behavior issues at school this year and they were creating lots of stress for my wife and myself, for awhile there it looked like there was a real possibility that if his behavior didn't improve he might end up getting expelled from school AND daycare.

 

Things have improved tremendously though lately, mainly because he's been diagnosed with an attention defiect disorder and medicated for it.

 

We were reluctant to get his tested for this because for a long time we were very skeptical about the whole ADD thing and the idea of putting kids on drugs, but his behavior this year made us think there was more to it than just a little hyperactivity or "kids being kids". So now I'm a believer, his performance at school has changed dramatically and there are other obvious and positive shifts in his behavior.

 

Hopefully this will be the first of many awesome treasure box toys for him.
