Ballarat Town Hall
This is the third Town Hall in Ballarat constructed in 1870 and designed by Architects JJ Lorenz and HR Casselli (interiors) following a design competition. It is a very important building in the Sturt Street streetscape and a local landmark. It is unusual for its peel of bells which are not a usual feature of Town Halls.
It has a symmetrical facade, decorated with a trabeated system of pilasters and is dominated by the dome roofed clock tower.
