Walking between Grand Central Station and 53rd and Broadway every day, I can't help but notice the myriad of characters lost in their own worlds during their daily routines.

I shoot from the hip while walking to capture these images with the intimacy of a street portrait and the stealth of a long lens. I prefer the feel the 35mm lens brings to the image along with the low angle of the camera. I feel this brings the viewer into the scene.

I prefer to not disrupt the subjects as I feel their knowledge of being photographed changes their appearance, and that is precisely what I am trying to capture.

This series is part of a year long project to capture images of the people I see between my daily walk.
