2018-12-10 Big Santa Anita Canyon

Only a two-person Meanderthals Hike, with just me and Don Siminski. We spent a beautiful fall day in Big Santa Anita Canyon, enjoying fall colors and streams refreshed by a recent storm. In from Chantry Flat via the Gabrielino Trail, thence on the Lower Falls Trail to Sturtevant Falls; next up the Upper Falls Trail to intercept the Gabrielino Trail again at Falling Sign Junction. From here, back down the Gabrielino to complete the loop back at Fern Lodge Junction, from where we returned to Chantry Flat. Five-and-a-half miles, with 1300 feet of gain round trip.
