In this scene the bench seat is reversed, allowing the helmsman to monitor and communicate with those at the stern. Another nice feature is the dual rail breaks on the port and starboard side directly behind the spring cleat. These opening similar to the one forward allow for easy boarding without the danger of straddling a safety rail.
