Caire, Pyramides de Gizeh

Notes: Félix Bonfils (8 March 1831 – 1885) was a French photographer and writer who was active in the Middle East.

 

After the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869, a lucrative market developed for photographs of Egyptian antiquities and the Canal, for sale to travellers and collectors.This is from a presentation album dated 1880.
