Vancouver Island Pygmy Owl
This past fall a girlfriend and I were on a Sunday morning mission to find Pygmy Owls. We were driving down the road during the first 10 minutes or less of our search and the sun shone on this gorgeous little Owl by the side of the road. Your kidding us really ? No bushwhacking or searching for hours just drive down the road pull over and start shooting. So now what? We thought let's go find more Owls ...nope not a one. We could have turned around and driven home but it was more fun to stay out search I do believe we found a few good birding spots for future outings.
