Countries With The Highest GDP In The World
The World has a total GDP of about 60 trillion US dollars, and 14 trillion of that is turned over by the United States of America alone. That means that the US earned almost a quarter of all the World's new wealth in 2008, the year in which both sets of figures below - from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) - are based. According to both of those pan-global organisations, the top 10 countries below had a combined GDP of 40 trillion dollars in 2008, which is a strong indicator of how unfair the global economy remains. Whilst the US takes the top spot, if the European Union was considered a single country, it would top the list instead with a combined GDP of 18 trillion dollars, 14 trillion of which is attributed to the countries within the Eurozone............
