Lilac-Breasted Roller (Coracias caudata)
This roller caught a juicy caterpillar and then proceeded to smash it repeatedly against its perch. A second bird soon joined and seemed to have an eye on the meal. It seemed impossible that the bird could swallow the caterpillar and in fact I thought it was choking when it tried. Eventually it muscled the treat down successfully.
