I took AF-C with Pentax K-3 + FA* 80-200mm 1:2.8 to the test.
I never trusted AF-C to be fast enough for sports and such - especially soccer games. So, I decided to take it to the test, utilizing the "expanded" setting, featuring multiple (25) focusing points. From the EXIF data I can see that the camera is doing apr. 4 FPS. They say that recent SDM lenses (Supersonic Direct-drive Motor) are faster than this old screw driver lens. In the case of speed the Pentax K-1 is on par with Canon 5D mrk. 2 from 2008 - a Full Frame camera, that offers 3.9 FPS. Pentax makes nice cameras, that produces high image quality, but for sports there are better (faster) choices available.
